Question

How mediation works?

Answer

ENGLISH

Hi! My name is Dr. Deirdre Bowen. I am a professor at the Seattle University School of Law. The information that I am about to provide to you should be taken as just that: information and not legal advice. One way of sorting the end of your relationship either ending a domestic partnership or marriage is to make use of a mediator. A mediator is a mutual third party. He/she does not represent either party or advocate for either party. Instead, a mediator works for you and your former partner to solve issues like how to distribute your marital property, how to distribute your debts, and even things like custody and spousal support.

Hola, mi nombre es Dra. Diedra Bowen.
