3. Consult Advocate (Optional)

You can consult a victim advocate or a pro bono (free) lawyer for guidance. Advocates can help you review your documents, explain the court process, and discuss how the requested changes may affect your safety and rights. Only lawyers can provide legal advice, but advocates can guide you through this step at no cost.

Submit-to-Court

4. File with the Clerk

Submit your filing and all exhibits at the Guam Judicial Center in Hagåtña. The court clerk will review the submission and ensure everything is in order.

Process

Step 1

Check Eligibility

Before you begin, make sure you have an active Order of Protection (temporary or permanent) issued by the Superior Court of Guam. You may submit exhibits if the documents, photos, or other materials relate to your existing case and support a pending request, hearing, or court review.

Step 2

Prepare Your Exhibits

Gather the documents, photos, or other exhibits you want to submit. These materials should be relevant to your Order of Protection and clearly support your claim, request, or response. Make sure your files are clear, complete, and properly labeled if possible.

Step 3

Complete the Submission Form

Fill out the submission form by identifying the related case number and briefly explaining what you are submitting and why. Use the free-text section to describe how the exhibits relate to your Order of Protection, recent incidents, or court proceedings.

Step 4

Attach Exhibits

Upload your exhibits through the filing system. All attached documents or photos will be included with your Submission Form and filed together as supplemental exhibits for the court to review.

Step 5

File the Submission

Once the form and exhibits are complete, submit them to the Superior Court of Guam. Your submission will be officially filed and added to your case record for judicial and clerk review.

Step 6

Court Review

The court will review the submitted exhibits in connection with your existing Order of Protection or any pending motion or hearing. The judge may consider the exhibits when making decisions related to your case.

Step 7

Use at Hearing or Further Action

Submitted exhibits may be used during a scheduled hearing or as part of the court’s ongoing review of your case. You may be asked to explain or reference the exhibits if the court requires additional clarification.
