TYPES OF PROTECTION ORDERS
Protection From Abuse
Protection from Abuse (PFA) Orders are for individuals who have experienced abuse, domestic violence, or threats from a family member, household member, current or former intimate partner, or another person covered under Kansas law. A PFA can order the abusive person to stop the abuse or contact, stay away from you, leave a shared residence, and provide other protections to help keep you safe. These orders are governed by K.S.A. Chapter 60, Article 31 (K.S.A. 60-3101 through 60-3122).
Protection from Stalking or Sexual Assault Orders
Protection from Stalking or Sexual Assault Orders are issued to victims of stalking, sexual assault, or harassment. These orders provide protection against further contact or harassment by the perpetrator. K.S.A. Chapter 60, Article 31, specifically in sections 60-31a01 to 60-31a10.
Protection from Workplace Violence Orders
Protection from Workplace Violence Orders are issued to protect individuals from threats or violence in the workplace. These orders can be obtained by an employer or an individual employee. K.S.A. Chapter 60, Article 31, specifically in sections 60-31b01 to 60-31b07.
