Victims of domestic violence can now prepare their court paperwork to secure Protection Order process using LegalAtoms, a free turbo-tax-like website.

Besides paperwork, LegalAtoms provides victims education material and ability to connect with lawyers, and Domestic Violence Advocates. Free referral appointments can be made with a single click from any web device such as a smartphone, laptop, or tablet.

Lawyers serving domestic violence cases can also setup a free profile and start receiving cases. In future, if the startup gains traction, it may charge lawyers a referral fee for paying clients, but only if the client ends up hiring the lawyer.

The website is an improvement over existing free solutions as it covers all domestic violence case types including "with children". It also has a very modern look and feel similar with the goal of translating legalese into plain friendly language and visualizations.

LegalAtoms is secure, encrypted, and maintains user privacy. It follows Washington State guidelines for filling forms.

The tool adjusts to cover the minor differences in the court forms of different counties Washington. In the near future the tool will be made available in Spanish, and other major languages spoken in Washington state, and allow clients to submit the paperwork to King County advocates electronically to speed up the process and get help remotely, particularly in underserved areas.
