English

My name is Dr. Deirdre Bowen, I am a professor at Seattle University School of Law. The information should be taken as just that: information but not legal advice. One question people have is where to file for divorce. You file for divorce in a place where you currently live. Courts needs to have jurisdiction. And Jurisdiction is established based on your residency. Ideally but necessarily not your spouse must be residing in the same jurisdiction. Once it's established, you must  wait ninety days until you file for divorce.

Hola, mi nombre es Dra. Diedra Bowen.
