The law enforcement agency will serve the respondent. Or they can report to you if the service could not be performed on time.

HOW IT WORKS FOR LAW ENF AGENCY

1. Get Notification

Typically a client will nominate your agency at which point you will receive an email notification. The notification (email, and in-app) also provides complete access to the completed U Visa case documents.

The law enforcement can view and download the case documents e.g. for records, or for getting a wet ink signature and stamp.

4. Respondent acknowledges digitally

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many courts have allowed filing the DVPO online. LegalAtoms allows the client to send the complete package electronically (e-mail and within LegalAtoms). 

HOW IT WORKS FOR THE RESPONDENT

1. Get Text and E-mail

Respondent receives a text and e-mail notification that with a web URL. The text just states that it's a time sensitive confidential message for them from the specific court

2. Views documents

The respondent clicks on the link to view the court documents on their browser. The documents can be viewed securely from any device. There is an audit trail kept of when the documents are viewed

Respondent acknowledges and signs the documents. In case the respondent does not acknowledge within the allotted time, the law enforcement will get a notification
