How a user can Upload documents via Upload File to Packet

LegalAtoms allows professionals or users to upload exhibits within documents via Upload File to Pakcet,follow these steps

Step 1: Login to LegalAtoms

Navigate to https://app.legalatoms.com/

You will see the login screen where you can enter your credentials and hit login to access your account.

Step 2: Navigate to the Case Info Page

From your dashboard, locate and select the specific case where you need to upload the document. This will open the case info page.

Step 3: Navigate to the Section

Navigate to the section where the document needs to be Uploaded. E.g. The clerk wants to upload exhibit document in the Hearing section, he needs to navigate to the hearing section.

Step 4: Upload Document

Supported Document Formats

The following file formats are supported for document uploads:

  • Images:  Supported formats are  PNG, JPEG, JPG, BMP, HEIF, HEIC
  • Documents: Supported formats are .pdf, .doc, .docx.
  1. Click on the Upload File to Packet button.
  2. Choose the file from your computer.
  3. Confirm and upload the file.
  4. After successfully uploading the document, the user can update the file name by clicking the Edit icon, download the file, and delete the file.

Step 5: Upload Audio and Video Files

Navigate to the section where the audio & video files need to be Uploaded. E.g. The judge wants to upload files in the Full Order section, he needs to navigate to the hearing section.

Supported Audio and Video Filetypes

  • Audio: Supported formats are AIFF, WAV, AAC, MP3, ALAC, OGG, DSD, M4A
  • Video: Supported formats are MOV, MP4, M4V, H.264, HEVC (H.265)

File Size Limits

To ensure efficient storage and accessibility across devices, especially for mobile users, we’ve set specific size limits for audio and video files:

  • Audio: Up to 100MB per file. This size is ideal for high-quality audio recordings. This limit accommodates detailed audio while keeping files manageable for mobile storage and playback.
  • Video: Up to 500MB per file. This limit supports:
    • Standard Definition (SD) video of approximately 20–30 minutes.
    • High Definition (HD) video for shorter durations.

These size limits are carefully balanced to optimize usability, data storage, and bandwidth costs, ensuring users can easily access and share content across different platforms.

  1. Click on the Upload File to Packet button.
  2. Choose the audio or video file from your computer.
  3. Confirm and upload the file.
  4. After successfully uploading the document, the user can update the file name by clicking the Edit icon, download the file, and delete the file.

Step 6: Remote Upload

Upload URL

  • User needs to enabled toggle ON button to upload documents remotely
  • User can upload files via Upload URL link.
  • User needs to just copy the link and paste the Upload URL link into a new browser tab or window to start the upload process.
  • Click on Dialog to complete the upload remotely.
  • Choose the audio and video file from your computer and confirm the upload.

Scan the QR Code

  • User can upload the audio, video and document via QR code scanner on your mobile phone (available in the camera app on most smartphones).
  • Scan the QR code provided by LegalAtoms.
  • The QR code will open the upload URL in your mobile browser.
  • Follow the prompts on the mobile browser.
  • Select the document from your mobile device.
  • Confirm and upload the document.


 

Step 7: Uploading evidence during the hearing

To facilitate easier evidence uploading during hearings, a new Hearing Documents section has been added to the interface. This section appears immediately before the Full Order Grant/Deny questionnaire section. The Hearing Documents section allows for the upload of necessary exhibits or supporting documents during the hearing.

Steps to Add Hearing Documents

  1. Locate the Hearing Documents Section:
    • Navigate to the Proof of Service Documents section.
    • Scroll down until you see the Hearing Documents section, which is located just before the Full Order Grant/Deny section.
  2. Upload Documents:
    • Professionals can generate “Instruction For Evidence” documents by clicking on the “Generate document” button.
    • Click on the Upload file to Packet button in the Hearing Documents section.
    • Select the Evidence you want to upload form your computer.
    • After successfully uploading the document, the user can update the file name by clicking the Edit icon, download the file, and delete the file.
