Duplicate Case Detection

LegalAtoms allows duplicate cases both for the person filing and the clerks.

Clerks can opt to block duplicate cases or allow them to be filed with a warning applied.

Here’s the experience for the person filing. They would see an error when they upload a document for immediate feedback.

Similarly on the clerk side if a filing is received which seems like a duplicate, a warning type of notification is displayed. The warning symbol highlights that there is a notification and it happens to be a warning.

The warning is just a type of notification so it ties in to the notifications feature set.

Clicking on the icon shows the notification for that case only. This is a filtered view of all the notifications filtered for that case only (as opposed to clicking on the Notifications on the top menu item which shows all notifications for all cases with the most recent one first)

Checking the notification will remove the icon from the main dashboard.  Accidentally checking can be easily undone in case a team member wants to keep it as a future task to get back to.
